La Paz offers a wide variety of lodging choices, from large hotels, beach resorts, smaller more traditional motels, quaint B & B's as well as R.V. parks and camping. Very few of the lodging choices are actually on the beach or have "sand" access out of your room. The rest of the lodging choices are vary in distance to the water but all are close with some being just in front of the Malecon or two to three blocks back.
The distance to your room is not as much of an issue as one might think as La Paz is a walker's paradise as most people never enter a car once here. Everything in town is within walking distance and walking thru town any time of day or night is safe, I should however warn you that the people of La Paz have a thing for Stop Signs or "Alto" signs. For some strange reason they don't stop! Really, wait till you see this, you'll be shacking your head in wonderment.

Don't blame your morning rush to the pot on those tacos, better chance it was the mass consumption of spirits that did you in. Street stand tacos could be just what the doctor ordered.
